We are creating an experience where as many students as possible can join in the fun of a winter retreat, so invite your friends! All junior high students in Cedar Falls, Grundy County, and Waverly are invited to The Ascent!
Where? Friday night lock-in at Orchard Hill Church in Cedar Falls + Saturday skiing/snowboarding at Welch Ski Village Resort in Welch, Minnesota.
When? Friday, Jan. 30 & Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 (Two Options: Friday only or both days). Friday drop off will be at 5:00pm at Orchard Hill Church in Cedar Falls [3900 Orchard Hill Drive]. Lock-in only pickup is 8:00am on Saturday. Skiers will return around 9:00pm on Saturday.
What? Epic worship, inflatable extravaganza, extreme bingo, lock-in, 27 rectangle, and skiing/snowboarding.
Cost & Registration: Registration opens Dec. 1, 2025 and closes Jan. 14, 2026.
- Base cost for all the Friday Night Fun: $30 (includes dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday)
Add-ons:
- Skiing or snowboarding at Welch Village with own equipment: $149 (includes transportation, lift ticket, all meals on Saturday)
- Skiing or snowboarding at Welch Village with rental equipment: $196 (includes transportation, lift ticket, gear, all meals on Saturday)
Notes: There will not be a formal Parent Informational Meeting. Snowboard equipment will be available on a first come, first serve basis on Saturday at Welch Village.
